We’ve been producing content for over 5 years but this is the first time we’ve had the opportunity to move in and set up as an office. We work online mostly in the cloud provided by google apps and Microsoft file-sharing, but the sheer size of this production really requires a place for us all to come together and work. Also for volunteers its difficult to bring people into our homes to help and learn.
Scott has had an office for some time, and its been very useful, but he still needs a place to be writing scripts so we needed to find a place in a part of town we’d actually like to go to and could afford. We really got lucky with to find a place right down town at The Launch Pad which provides affordable short term offices to indy papers and film makers. The space boasts a shared boardroom, kitchen, washrooms, and internet.
So our move-in day is tomorrow, and most of my apartment will be moving in with us. I have a dual system, dual display audio/video focused computer setup. That’s all moving, and the desks they are on will go too. All I’ll be left in the apartment will be a old mac laptop, a LCD monitor and partially broken TV. Hopefully I can keep up with my online tv habit, although I haven’t tried it.
Its an exciting time for sure.

Exciting times all around!
I’m exhausted, but the move went really well.
Thanks mom for the van, again. (I’ve done a lot of moving this year already) In 2 loads, we stuffed boxes of supplies and computers from all 3 of us, plus Christopher’s entire office!
Topher – I hope your laptop is happy on its new desk, ie, your lap… we’ll find you some new furniture soon (and replacement monitors)!
I’m happy with the tiny new space, it will be fun to finally set up an office of our own, spread out on my big desk, make that big production wall the guys always rave about, and I get to clean and organize all I want!
